A Gift Not Taken...

You may know that each year, Renewed Life Ministry WV works with the community to provide Christmas Gifts for children and the children of mothers in the School of Life Mentor Program, adding a few grandparents and great-grandparents locally. This year, we had a last-minute request for gifts to help a single mom with two children.

I asked the person referring, to ask the mother to reach out to the ministry. We sent a reminder and waited. We had some things that we could donate, even a small bike that would have met the needs of these particular children. They would have been quite happy on Christmas morning. We waited for a few days but never heard back from her. 

Sadly, each time, I walked by the gifts, it reminded me of the free gift of redemption that Jesus has for us but like the gifts that sat here for a while, the Gift of eternal life goes unredeemed by many.

Romans 6:23, “For the wages of sin is death, but the free Gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” ESV.

John 3:16, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him, should not perish but have everlasting life.” ESV.

John 11:25-26, “Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall be live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this? ESV.
